The landscape of Jedediah Smith Wilderness is defined by unique karst limestone features. Home to ancient caves, snow-dusted peaks, and other unique gems of nature, the wilderness encompasses an area of 123,451 acres (49,959 hectares) within the Caribou-Targhee National Forest. Also sharing borders with Grand Teton National Park, it is home to unique local flora and fauna and forms part of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. Here, you can spot elk, moose, grizzly bear, and wolverine. The area is popular for camping and fishing.
