My wife and I were on vacation in Tucson and saw the schedule for the Tucson Pops Orchestra. We planned our evening for the concert. The concert was terrific - as good as we have seen in larger cities. The Orchestra played for over 2 1/2 hours including a broad variety of music - classical, popular show tunes, violin solo's, and several patriotic songs. It was a treat to be able to see this performance. Huge cudos to the musicians, the friends of the Pops, the conductors and the many people who have supported the Pops for many years.

Music Under the Stars is a free outdoor concert by the Tucson Pops on Sunday evenings during springtime. Music is quite varied, from classical to Americana and more. Family friendly. Most attendees bring light folding chairs and picnic items to eat before show time. There are vendors trucks nearby selling food as well. Try to arrive an hour or more before the 7:00 PM performance for easier parking and to get a good spot on the grassy slope that overlooks the bandstand. Individual umbrellas are a good idea; it's usually quite warm until the sun goes down, then it's glorious. An oft-heard comment, referring to both the concert and the weather: This is why we live in Tucson Current information at website: www.tucsonpops.org
