An pseusoartistic representation of a post apocalyptic firing squad. What a waste of iron. The political leaders of St. Louis i. 1981 must have been blinded by the allure of Post Modernist art. They were taken by a smug self centered artist in name and the giddy feeling that they were getting more than left over rusted iron at a premium self important artistic price.Save your time and go to the zoo.

One of six parks in downtown lining the streets of Chestnut and Market. As far as I know there is only one sculpture in this park done by RIchard Serra. I thought the rusted steel fencing was fencing in an area where the city was working on something and these would be torn down was their ‘task’ was finished. After researching, this is a sculpture made of rusted steel, there are 7 of them that are 40 feet long and when observed from above, resemble a skewed triangle. Don’t know who can see this sculpture from above, perhaps the many buildings that line Chestnut and Market streets, but the person walking by doesn’t see much but panels. It is called the “Twain” sculpture. The sculptures in the City Garden are more discernible by those strolling by them compared to this sculpture in this park.
