This hotel surprised us! The grounds are lovely and our room with a balcony was simply beautiful and perfect. Loved the restaurants on property! Looking forward to coming back!

I originally booked this hotel out of necessity because the Grand Bohemian didn't have a room available with a soaking tub. Advertised as a resort and luxury property with sprawling grounds, I quickly learned that this label is a bit of a stretch. The Pros:Immaculately Clean: The rooms were spotless—always a huge plus in my book.Allergy-Friendly Design: I stayed in a spa room and loved the aesthetic. It featured clean hardwood floors, a simple area rug, and a hardwood headboard with minimal carpet and upholstery. The Soaking Tub: The deep step-up soaking tub was amazing and a lot of fun to use (though fair warning: the steps make it a bit tricky, so it might not be the safest option for everyone).Helpful Staff Moment: Although service is generally informal, a maintenance person and another staffer were kind enough to personally escort me to my room, which I really appreciated.Setting & Surroundings: The grounds feature a lovely veranda overlooking a retention pond. However, be aware that the hotel is located within a housing development that is actively under construction for large mini mansions. While the homes themselves are lovely, the ongoing construction alters the atmosphere.Location: It is about a 20-minute drive to the heart of downtown Greenville. The Cons & Reality Check:Service and Amenities: This is definitely not a luxury hotel. The staff, while pleasant, lack the professional training and uniform standards you would expect for the price point. For instance, the front desk employee didn't know the restaurant menu.Self-Service Vibe: There is no room service, no bellhops, and no visible high-level security. When I arrived via rideshare, the driver had to grab my luggage cart, mentioning from a past visit that the hotel doesn't provide staff to handle luggage or assist with rooms.Location Logistics: My spa room was located in a separate building about a five-minute walk from the main hotel—making it quite dark and isolated at night. However, when a business meeting was being held during my stay, the front desk staff actually warned me that the group was a loud bunch and suggested I'd be happier in the spa rooms away from the main hotel!Dining Options: There are two restaurants on-site: a more formal dining room and a bar-style restaurant. I ordered a cheesesteak from the bar restaurant, and it was a 1 out of 5 at best—not good at all. I ended up relying on UberEats for my meals and didn't explore the formal restaurant. The Verdict:Would I return? Maybe. It’s ultimately the only local hotel that checked all my boxes for a deep tub and a lack of heavy upholstery/carpeting. However, with sub-par casual dining, a lack of traditional hotel amenities like bellhops and room service, and untrained staff charging high rates, this property feels much more like a solid 3-star hotel than a luxury resort.

An absolutely beautiful property with great amenities and service! We arrived with a group of 40 on short notice, and Sarah at reception was an absolute rockstar, checking us in with great speed, efficiency, and a huge smile on her face! Thank you, Sarah (and the entire team) - could not have done it without you! We will definitely be back soon to enjoy more of this beautiful place. PS: The rooms are very nicely appointed, and the beds are the most comfortable we have ever slept in!

The hotel is stunning and easy to reach. However, it falls short of expectations when it comes to communication and basic services. We checked in on Saturday and left the following day. I had received an email shortly after booking with questions about our arrival and any occasions and I responded it was a quick get away for my husband and myself and we hoped to check in at 2. I got an email back that 2 was fine because of my wife’s birthday and massage at 2. When I told them they had the wrong reservation I just never heard back. I did book a massage for my hubs on Sunday and included in the notes to not contact him as the weekend was a suprise, but no one saw that note and he was emailed. I booked us a spa suite because it listed full use of the spa amenities. Those amenities are … a room with chairs. A pretty room, with nice chairs but his same service and length is $30 cheaper at Grove Park Inn where it includes a full days access to the entirety of their world famous spa. I have NEVER seen a spa that expensive with nothing else to add to the experience. He did say his massage was wonderful. Then the room. It was gorgeous but lacked common sense furnishings. There is only one hook for towels in the bathroom. The bathroom door is a barn door with no where to grab on the inside. You can hear the normal speaking volume conversations of adjacent rooms bathroom to bathroom. The HVAC duct is pointed DIRECTLY to the right hand side of the bed so if it comes on at night freezing/heated air is dumped on one sleeper. The TV has no streaming and only local channels. The pool ran out of towels for over an hour. The room door has an large gap all the way around so normal hallway sounds just echo on in. For the price, I expected better attention to detail in our experience and the room construction. Positives: the look of the place! Easy to get to. Wonderful massage. Amazing cocktails and dinner. Breakfast menu was pretty underwhelming.

Great experience; restaurants and facilities were wonderful. The only concern is the long term development of subdivisions on the once open green spaces surrounding the resort.
