Hello Turlock! I'm a Birth and Postpartum Doula. That means that I work with people to prepare them for labor, I support them throughout the delivery of their baby, and after I go and help them learn how to take care of a newborn! It's important to me that my clients feel supported and prepared for the birth of their child. As a Doula I'm there to support the person having the baby, AND their partner! According to research (by Mothering the Mother, Klaus, Kennell, & Klaus 1993) it’s been proven that when people in labor receive continuous support from a Doula, they have a: 50% reduction in cesarean rate, 60% reduction in epidural requests, 40% reduction in the use of pitocin, 25% shorter labor, 30% reduction in the use of analgesics, 40% reduction in the use of forceps, & Reported increased maternal satisfaction with their overall birth experience. I'm a Certified Childbirth & Breastfeeding Educator and I will teach a New Parent Skills Class. I'm also Certified in the following: Young Parent Support Specialist, Trauma-Informed Care, Loss & Bereavement Doula, and Placenta Specialist. I'm excited to bring my knowledge and support to people in Turlock and the surrounding areas!
