Mercy Clinical Laboratory, also known as MCL, is a full-service institution that specializes in pathology. The laboratory serves physician offices, hospitals and long-term care facilities throughout Iowa. It employs a staff of more than 200 people. The laboratory is accredited by the College of American Pathologists (CAP), the American Association of Blood Banks (AABB) and the American Society of Histocompatibility and Immunology (ASHI). Mercy Clinical Laboratory operates a microbiology department and offers customer support services. It also provides bacterial antigen testing solutions.
