The Savage Mill Trail runs along the Little Patuxent River on the opposite side from historic Savage Mill. I met hikers, dog walkers, and bicyclists along the way. The path is wide and lined with fine gravel. There are occasional picnic tables overlooking the river. Although the trail is only about a mile in length, one can link up with other trails and sites in the Savage area. The greenery and sounds of the flowing river are restful.
