We found this audio tour on a Google search and so glad we did. Our first time in Alaska and all we had was a map and notes written from various travel sites. Our car trip started in Anchorage, to Denali, Fairbanks, Talkeetna, Palmer, Girdwood, Seward and back to Anchorage. 10 days on the road and we expected to see a lot but not fully understand what we were looking at. But Audio Tour Alaska provided us with a car companion who taught us so much about Alaska and suggested stops along the way. With a GPS setting the program knew exactly where we were as we traveled the state. There are individual programs you can buy depending on your trip. We bought the entire package and enjoyed every part of our purchase. It was like having our own personal travel guide sitting in the back seat. Easy to download and never failed to provide audio coverage wherever we were. Interesting, informative, useful and humorous all in one. Thank you Audio Tour Alaska!

Great way to get to know the local sights and history while driving the beautiful state! Ranger Fox and Gunner do a great job keeping us educated on the wildlife, culture, food scene and local history. Very entertaining!

Our family try to use audio tours whenever possible while traveling. We learn 100x more about what we’re seeing and the history. When we couldn’t find a GuideAlong tour (which we usually use), we researched and found this as the top one. It was excellent! It was packed with great information and knowledge. It’s a bit of what your are seeing, what to look for, history, and local stories. It also doesn’t require cell service once it’s downloaded, using GPS way points to trigger the segments. We pretty much did all of the tours available except we didn’t make it all the way through the one to Homer and the full stretch between Fairbanks and Denali. A tip: Once in the tour, you can change the settings to not play the music that occurs between segments.

We rented a car and drove from Anchorage to Denali, through Denali National Park then to Talkeetna. We used Audio Tour Alaska App during our travels and it was was a huge help! It was super easy to use and had extremely helpful information about where to go and what to see. We learned a ton of stuff and had a great time on our trip!! For a long time there were no GPS-based driving audio guide for Alaska. I love Gypsy guides but they still don't have one for Alaska. Finally this changed since 2023 with Audio Tour Alaska. I was a little skeptical when I paid for it because I can't find many reviews. After one week of road trip, I am happy to say it works well and is worth the $$. It may not be 100% Gypsy level good yet, but for a one-year old product it surely exceeded our expectations. Technically, it worked as well as Gypsy, triggering audios based on GPS locations as you drive. Narrations were mostly very good. We listened to everything between Talkeetna and Homer/Seward and enjoyed most. The guide made our drive much more interesting. Two aspects that can be further improved: 1) same content is offered regardless of the direction of the drive, so if you already listened to Anchorage to Seward, there is no point of using the guide on the way back. Gypsy is better in this regard. 2) It has a good number of local stories already, but more would be even better. Overall, we really liked this app. If Gypsy is a 5, Audio Tour Alaska is a solid 4.5.
