tripadvisorThe hotel was clean but service was not good. It was a place with no staff on the premises (just coded entry to hotel and room) so when I was promised an iron and board to press a shirt before a wedding no one showed up. After a bunch of calls we found out the iron was two doors away in a storage closet so we got it ourselves. Got the shirt pressed with a minute to spare. Didn't need that stress. Also..the TV was a Google smart TV...no local news for weather...no ball games for relaxing after events. Not easy to use...it sucked. And the room was not cleaned the whole time we stayed. Didn't really like that. Should have stayed at a main stream hotel.
MoreLoved the Mill and the restaurant downstairs. A great history, my local farming family shared how they used to be customers when it was an actual Mill! My family had all 6 of the rooms for part of the stay. Enjoyed the common areas with coffee and ice machine. Having a microwave in the common area would be a great addition. The train did wake up some of us one night, although not me! Only issue (very minor): there is not daily cleaning service so trash did fill up which we took out. Would definitely stay here again!
MoreMy husband and I spent 2 nights here. We had the larger queen room with private bathroom. The room was clean and comfortable. Check in with the door code was easy. Walkable to a restaurant/brewery and coffee/breakfast shop downstairs. Easy drive to Madison and surrounding areas. I would definitely recommend this hotel. One note (we knew about this before booking): It is right next to train tracks and can be very loud. In our 2 nights we only heard 2 trains but one of them was at 2am and did blow its horn.
