tripadvisorJust a 1950s or so era old town. Pocatello is rather poor and they don't seem to have money over the years to change things. So old thing were kept.
MoreWe pulled off the Interstate to eat in downtown Pocatello & were delighted to find the many buildings sporting historic commercial signage of a type seldom seen these days - artistic neon & painted signage on buildings. Start your tour at the preserved Chief Theater Sign at 233 N. Main Street, Ste C. Let your eyes guide your steps. There's plenty of signage to be viewed within a few blocks. A must see sign is the Greyhound sign on the bus depot at the corner of W. Bonneville St and S. Harrison Ave. While at that location, railroad history enthusiasts will enjoy seeing the old Union Pacific signage on the train depot highlighting the era when the UP held the Oregon Short Line Railroad ownership. Above this location is the huge signage atop the Hotel Yellowstone.
