tripadvisorCatastrophic stay. We booked a family suite room for 4, and when we arrived after 11pm they had overbooked our room and it wasn’t available. They offered us a room with one king bed instead (for 4 people) or a refund (at midnight, with 2 young kids). I had to involve the booking website and after calling them they ending us splitting my family between 2 of the cheaper rooms, one of which was actually a room technically booked by somebody who left right away when they went into the room. We accepted because it was already past midnight, but figured out the reason: it was smelling like sewer. A strong, vomit-inducing smell. The clerk tried his best and gave us some cleaning product spray to try to mask the smell, but it was terrible. No compensation given by the hotel so far. This is probably my worst stay ever.
MoreDO NOT STAY HERE. We checked into our rooms and the sheets had not been changed from previous quest, used dried contacts in the glassware, someone passed out from drug activity on the steps, neighbors making noise all night long, and someone beating down our door at 4am screaming for help and anyone with Narcan to help their overdosed friend. Scared for our life and no family or child should stay here. Definitely NOT family friendly, only local drug addicted people staying at the hotel and staff did not flinched when I told them.
MoreI had a very positive stay at the California Inn. The staff was very friendly at check-in and mentioned that the property is under new management, which seems to show in the condition of the rooms. When I checked in, I asked to see the room first, and the one they showed me had recently been remodeled. It was spotless, modern, and clearly very well maintained. My room was also themed — it had a fun “under the sea” mermaid design, which made the stay feel unique and memorable. The bathroom was especially nice and looked newly updated as well. Everything felt clean and fresh, which made the room even more comfortable. The room also had some nice unexpected touches, including bottled water, snacks, Peet’s coffee with a Keurig, and even a non-alcoholic beer in the fridge. Everything was complimentary, which was a pleasant surprise. The location was convenient—about a mile from Disneyland Resort. Parking was easy, and it was quiet at night, which made the stay even more comfortable. For about $70 a night, I felt it was an excellent value. The room was clean, comfortable, and recently updated. I would happily stay here again.
MoreOkay so $100 I don’t know what I expected and I feel bad giving it 2 stars; 2 1/2 maybe? You pull in to check in at a run down liquor store that sits in the front of the hotel parking lot. It’s kind of a rough run down part of town. Pros: the guy that checked us in could not have been nicer, he seriously wanted to be there and be accommodating. We thought our car would be stolen and it wasn’t so yay!The shower was big and clean and had good water pressure.Beds were comfyClose to Disneyland Nice little basket of candy and bottled water for free in your rom Cons: Standing behind a “lady of the night” to check in with young kids a bummer. She was there to work clearly as she marked her door that night. ♀️Coffee makers didn’t work In our room or our families room. Our room was shoved back in a corner by the utility/maid service room which was super loud and our window faced a huge brick wall. Dark and gloomy room. Scary area at night It’s great on a budget but we won’t be back. Just to sketchy!!
MoreWe go to Disneyland once a month and I cannot recommend this inn enough! It is cute, comfortable, clean, and the customer service is amazing! The beds are the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in, and the bathrooms are so luxurious! We love getting ready for a complete Disney day in these rooms!
