My passion for baking & cooking started early in my childhood. Being the oldest of 7 siblings you can imagine the help my mom needed in the kitchen, and I was always there to assist & learn (and being her taste tester was the best! I consider myself a professional self-taught baker nowadays. I started making treats as a hobby in 2015 and I enjoyed it so much I began to take it more serious by viewing how to videos & read information on confections/baking/chocolate/ candy etc. it was so fascinating to me! My friends & coworkers started to purchase treats from me also and I never thought about making it a business. During the 2020 pandemic I was looking thru some how-to YouTube videos on treats- I stumbled across some cake decorating videos late one night and it’s been on ever since! Today, Dbsdelights is a thriving female, black owned, home-based business serving some very happy customers in the Philadelphia & surrounding area- providing the best cakes, cupcakes & treats. Because I am a fulltime Banquet Captain by day, my food & beverage background & banquet knowledge compliments my small business with access to more creativity flow of, i.e., taste/presentations/best ingredients/allergen info/ freshness of products- handpicked produce/using quality products/ non-gmo/non trans-fat or non HFC’s whenever possible and so much more.
