Pain Sugar Gallery is a small, local gallery featuring local, emerging artists. A couple times a month, they offer life drawing classes, which fill up fast. This is a small and supportive environment to explore life drawing. Yes, there is a nude model... could be anybody. They have instructed options, which means that an instructor will sit next to you and offer tips as you draw. Uninstructed means that you're kind of on your own to try to figure things out, but this can still be a great exercise, and other artists will give you feedback if you ask.I recommend checking out the gallery, but I especially recommend the life drawing classes if you're trying to find a place to practice that isn't (a) in front of the mirror or (b) at a university. The class lasts for 3 hours with several breaks in between.
