Happily the Yomi Hogan Gallery is still in place. This time I was able to observe the sever huge paintings in the D Concourse which is a new extension of the collection. Autumnal shades depicted the first entitked Amber Waves of Grain. I was impressed with intense winter sunset reflecting off a river. Pencils, pens and brushes caught in mid air falling from a cup was compelling. Art makes the normally tense air travel experience a little less stressful.

The Yumi Hogan Art Gallery graces a corridor within the Baltimore Washington Thurgood Marshall International Airport. The large prints, paintings, and photographs are accompanied by detailed descriptions of the work and the artist, all of whom showcase the talent from different parts of Maryland. Mrs. Hogan serves as the chair of the airport’s art committee and is an accomplished artist herself. With millions of travelers passing through BWI each year, one trusts that many people have benefitted from the gallery since it opened in November 2022.
