This is a pristine, beautiful and easy, nearly three mile float. I floated on a perfect weather Friday putting in at 12:30. I was off the river by 1:30. I would have to done a more leisurely pace, but there were more people than I expected, several not following the rules of no swimming and no boom boxes. Also, a wave runner came up river, slowly, but why? As some other reviews noted, the kayaks could have been cleaner. The life jackets were new and the paddles were fine. The wildlife I saw included fish, birds and one very small snake. No manatees. I recommend going mid-week if possible for a more peaceful experience.

I would do this again in a heartbeat. Was beautiful and relaxing. Boats and equipment in great shape and comfortable. Went Thanksgiving week and sadly did not see manatees (I think the water levels were too low it seemed to me) but saw lots of other wild life. Heads up that prior to trip you are asked to sign an acknowledgment that they have trained you in how to operate boats and safety procedures despite them not having done so. And if you are assuming they will do that when you actually arrive you would be wrong. They teach/tell you nothing. Which was no big deal to us but in case you are counting it. I do think there was a soundless video playing in the check in area that had some information if you wanted to view it. The check-in area has bathrooms and changing rooms which is really helpful. My one actual criticism - we arrived 15-30 minutes prior to scheduled time as requested by them. We checked in and were told to wait until boats became available as they were unexpectedly busier than usual and out of boats. In the meantime a large group came 1 minute before their same scheduled time as us, and a employee told us that they were going to give the next batch of boats to them, even though we arrived first (and on time) for the same appointment time. Our family of 4 decided to just wander down to the river launch site and talk to the employees down there and they said there were boats we could use and let us launch without having to wait for the group so in the end we were not delayed but would have been significantly if we had followed the directions of the staff at check in.

The river is always beautiful, we have done this several times being locals. The girls at the desk were not very friendly or helpful yesterday. All of the guys were very helpful and nice on the put in and take out. It's a shame that some people that sign waivers and paddle past the no getting out of your kayak and no swimming signs decide that the rules don't apply to them and decide to go swimming and when we said it's ILLEGAL to be in the water they just ignored us. Unfortunately a ranger passed us about 20 minutes later when they had already gotten back in their kayak. I believe these people were German......it should be made clear to people from out of the country what they are agreeing to .

We did the kayaking. Really fun. It's a little bit more fun when the river is not so busy (like it was on July 4th weekend), but it was still peaceful, fun, relaxing and not difficult.

This was our forth time doing the Weeki Wachee river and love it every time. We did not see a manatee this time but saw allot of wide life. Very majestic to float down. Absolutely beautiful .
