Reviews
tripadvisorI had an excellent stay at the Fairfield Inn Tempe, and the entire experience exceeded my expectations. From the moment I checked in, Cameron provided a warm welcome and made the process very smooth. He explained everything clearly and made sure I had all the information I needed.Later, my son and I had dinner at the bar, where Josh went above and beyond to take care of us. He was attentive throughout the evening and continued checking in to make sure we had everything we needed. The food was delicious and high quality. I also really appreciated the wireless cellphone charger built into the bar table — a very thoughtful and convenient touch. The room was extremely clean, well maintained, and in impeccable condition. Everything was in proper working order, and the bed was very comfortable, comparable to what I have experienced at other Marriott, Sheraton, and W properties.I also interacted with the night auditor when I needed a duplicate room key. He was very pleasant, professional, and helpful. The following morning, while sitting in the lobby, I observed several guests checking out and was especially impressed to see him consistently providing the same friendly and attentive service to every guest. That kind of genuine hospitality and consistency is becoming harder to find. The breakfast experience also impressed me. The breakfast area was very clean, well maintained, and kept organized throughout the morning. The team was constantly monitoring the buffet and replenishing fresh items as soon as something started running low. There was an excellent variety of choices, including many healthy breakfast options, as well as plenty of selections for guests who prefer a more traditional or larger breakfast. I am personally not a big breakfast eater, but I was very impressed by the quality, freshness, cleanliness, and variety available.Having worked as a hospitality executive for more than 22 years, I naturally notice the small details, service standards, cleanliness, and overall condition of a hotel. I was genuinely impressed with this property and, more importantly, with the consistency of service provided by the team. This was my first time staying at a Fairfield Inn, as I normally stay at Marriott, Sheraton, or W properties, and I can honestly say I did not feel there was any compromise in the quality
MoreIf I could rate higher than 5 stars I would. The negative reviews on this hotel are from entitled, bored people. This hotel is AMAZING in every way. PROS:- huge modern pool, tons of seating, ample towels, large hot tub- a gym worthy of a membership with TRX, med balls, 5 cardio machines, two benches, 6 racks of free weights, and a multi-use machine- cafe style breakfast with fluffy frittatas, gourmet breakfast sandwiches, ample selection of muffins and juices, 10 toppings for yogurt, a huge seating area, and friendly helpful staff- generous size room and bathroom - free ample parking - location is across from retail stores like Target, CVS, H&M, DWS, etc and 5 min from ASU- working laundry machines on premise (I can't remember when I last saw this!) - social lobby and restaurant with Happy Hour specials, yummy food options, and they even had a live band Friday afternoon in the courtyard!- The staff- helpful, so friendly, and always around CON: - the only thing I would note is that the AC unit can be loud when on high- but for those who like the room cold it can be turned very cold!
MoreAfter the 1st night of a 4 night stay, I asked the front desk staff to arrange for just towel exchange and a box of kleenex, and that I was not asking for any cleaning service. I arrived back to the hotel later that day to find that the towels were not exchanged and no tissue box left (no one had been in the room). The next morning, I discussed this issue with the same front desk staff member who rolled her eyes at me after I mentioned my Marriott status. Very rude and displayed NO customer service. I would recommend additional customer service training for this staff member! I do not think that it should be that difficult to get clean towels and some kleenex!
MoreReally wanted to give this place higher rating. This is the fourth night we have spent here. We have lowered our expectations post pandemic, and know not to expect daily housekeeping. We have been here since Thursday and yet to have our room serviced in any way, shape or form. We have requested basic refresh service since our second night here. Garbage and towels are stacking up. Poor woman at the front desk is the only person here after hours. Our oldest just started at ASU and thankfully there are many other options than this poorly serviced hotel to choose from Over the next four years. Do not recommend.
MoreAs a Marriott Bonvoy Titanium member, I stay at numerous Marriott properties throughout the year. To give a hotel five stars, I start by asking “would I stay here again?” In the case of the Fairfield Inn & Suites Tempe, the answer is unfortunately no. While there are many positives for the property, there are significant negatives that impacted that answer.Positive Aspects• The property is very new, so it has updated finishes and a very modern look.• Unlike most Fairfield Inns, this property has a full-service bar and restaurant in the center of the common space.• Unlike most Fairfield Inns, this property has hardscaped its pool area into a pleasant and inviting space with canopies, lots of pool furniture and a recessed area in the pool itself creating a seating area.• Lots of shopping and restaurants are directly across the street in the Tempe Marketplace.Negative Aspects• The hotel is on Rio Salado Parkway which sits on a direct line for the Sky Harbor Airport airplane traffic. One line of planes comes over the Tempe Marketplace across the street, and the other line of planes comes directly over the hotel parking lot. This means continuous noise from about 5am until midnight daily. Needless to say, I did not get quality sleep for my four-night stay.• My room faced the street side of the hotel instead of poolside (so much for a Titanium Elite upgrade). On the weekend, the locals treated Rio Salado as a drag strip. Motorcycles and loud modified vehicles frequently raced down the street making a ton of noise. Once again, this reduced the amount of sleep I got.• Parking (while free) was a premium. The parking lot became increasingly congested as each night progressed. Therefore, finding a space later in the evening was often difficult.• The seal to my shower was not solid as I had ponding outside the shower after each use. So, I had to use a towel daily to mop up the floor.• I booked my room a few days ahead of arrival. Once I checked in, the price for each subsequent night dropped in the Marriott app by $20 - $30 each night. I was stuck paying a higher rate as the hotel continued to drop its rate each day. While I realize this is the potential risk of booking in advance, it is frustrating to know that the hotel overestimated its rates for everyone who booked early.• Bonvoy Benefits were practically non-existent. No suite upgrade, no preferred room location, rather just the required bonus points applied to my account.Based on pictures and reviews, I had high hopes for this property. By no means is it a bad choice, but the sheer number of options in the Phoenix area means I would personally go elsewhere in the future.
