One of the top 3 Hyatt’s, we have stayed at over the past three years , pretty exceptional for its size and location. We were celebrating our anniversary & my wife’s 80th birthday, that they provided personal touches and thoughtful recognition . We will be returning soon. Commendations to Rob Serpico and Erick Ramos for being so thoughtful and helpful.

The hotel is nice and the location is good. This used to be a favorite. They have an amazing rooftop hot tub overlooking the ocean…. However, to maximize their bar revenue, they have put bar seating in the gated off pool area. Now, the hot tub and pool are not usable at night if you wish to relax! If your plan was to watch a sunset from the hot tub, be prepared to be overrun with bar patrons. It was bad enough you used to have to walk through the crowded bar to get to the private pool area. Now you have to compete with the bar to use it!I brought this to the attention of the hotel manager. Their response was their email response:“We understand that having the Rooftop Bar adjacent to the pool area can be challenging when looking to relax in a calm environment. Our beach rambler is an alternative to hotel guests that are seeking a different type of environment. They can provide complimentary umbrellas and chairs to hotel guests. We also have a jacuzzi at our sister hotel the Seabird resort available for Mission pacific Hotel guests, it is also adjacent to the Shelter Club, another of our Food & beverage outlet.“Lets be clear… the bar is not adjacent. It is IN the pool area now that before was private. And the alternative solution is to put on your bathing suit and walk across the street to their sister hotel is ridiculous! You pay A LOT for the amenities of the hotel that you cannot enjoy. I recommend staying elsewhere if you wish to relax.

Our stay at the Mission Pacific Beach Resort was absolutely perfect !! From the warmth of the LOVE sign that greets you at valet, to the luxury of every piece of furniture and design that awaits you when you check in; -words cannot describe how gorgeous ALL of it is! This was hands down one of, if not thee best stays we have ever experienced. If youre having trouble deciding on where to stay while youre in town, let me save you the headache. The Mission Pacific Beach Resort checks all the boxes; luxurious, couple/family friendly, right on the beach, and conveniently located just a walk a way from everything. My bf and i only got to stay a day, but we love it so much we already want to go back! Truly a home away from home, and an experience you'll never forget :).

Checking in to check out my experience was for exceeding any expectation I had. This is a premier boutique Hyatt property with prime location adjacent to the Oceanside Pier. Park your car at the property or across the street to save a little. Because while you were there, there is really no need to drive anywhere because everything you need is well within walking distance. Highly recommend joining worldly to utilize your point value of one of the best properties on the West Coast. As a world of I member, you will have the resort fee waived and be able to enjoy daily beach service (Umbrella, chairs, towels, boogie board, sand toys). Truly, completely taking care of and allowed to Have one of the most relaxing trips you can imagine. Staffing is highly motivated to make sure that you are completely satisfied. Nothing less than perfection is what they strive to achieve. The layout of the property, The room amenities and decor, The inside lobby and outside receiving areas… the Hyatt Team really thought out of the box when they put this one together. Don’t miss the opportunity to have one of your best trips. The next time you have the opportunity.

I have been coming here for years since it opened. Love the interior design, love the beds. Love the bathrooms Staff is great. Housekeeping has done great to keep the hotel rooms swanking. Dining options at the hotel and around the area plentiful. Great location - but not that the hotel can be subject to the mercy of its location depending on what is happening at the beach or at the amphitheater, or on the streets around it. Rooftop Pool area has changed a lot over the years - definitely been upgraded/staged to generate more income (that’s the general feel nowadays with lounge chairs requiring reservations) whereas before it was more laid back and relaxed (if you want something kid friendly head over to the sister hotel next door which guests at Mission Pacific also have access to). Still a great place to hang out and take advantage of the offerings of The Rooftop Bar adjacent to it (which can get jam packed with non hotel guests) but just noting the change in ambience over the years. Despite all this this hotel remains on my go to staycation places. BTW Great to time your visit with the community events - such as the weekly farmer’s market or Thanksgiving parade. These are the only times i feel that the hotel (without trying) is part of a community (by default) but perhaps the hotel should consider these as a means to invigorate clients to actually visit again and add a different dimension as to why they should come back. Just to mix things up.
