This is an interesting bronze sculpture right next to the Tyler Rose Garden just to the Northwest of the Texas State Capital building. It is the work of sclulptor Linda Sioux Henley and commissioned by the Daughters of the Republic of Texas in 1998. The sculpture is of a young Texas pioneer, standing in the wind while holding her child. She stands on a Red Granite base with engraved commemoration to pioneer women that played important role in settling Texas during the early days.
