Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Hotel Herringbone. The staff was friendly and welcoming, including the team at the rooftop bar, who provided excellent service. The location was convenient walking distance to the Silos, several restaurants, and a lovely independent book store.That said, there were a few disappointments. We weren’t informed at check-in that the cable TV service was unavailable, which would have been helpful to know in advance. after a bit of discussion we received a slight discount on the rate was a nice touch but again this is something we should have been informed about and not have to ask.Our family members across the hall had issues with the air conditioning in their room,. They received a box fan, but that’s less than expected at the price point (there rate was higher than ours for a similar room). The soundproofing left a lot to be desired—we could easily hear conversations and noise from both the hallway and the adjoining rooms and those taking the stairs to leave the bar.The hotel has a lot of potential, and a terrific onsite staff. With a few improvements to communication and guest comfort, it could be an even better experience.

Great location near the Silos and the Dr Pepper Museum—and unfortunately, that’s where the positives stop. The front desk experience was rough; the front desk clerk should not be in customer service as she barely spoke up, and offered zero assistance. No luggage cart, no help, nothing. We booked the presidential suite, but the only thing presidential about it was the price.The room lighting was awful, and when we tried to close the blackout shades… surprise, there weren’t any. Parking was just as nonexistent. You’d think a suite would come with a reserved spot, but nope—street parking. Even friends who drove an hour to visit couldn’t find a place to park anywhere near the hotel.We’d heard good things about the restaurant but ended up eating offsite. And just a heads-up: the property sits right next to an active railroad and is built from shipping containers. That might be “cool” to some, but the lack of customer service and the obvious maintenance issues say a lot about how the place is run.Overall: hard pass.

Hotel herringbone was perhaps the worst hotel experience I have had in recent memory. The rooms were overpriced, small, did not include a chair, little storage, AC did not work, dirty, and not cleaned on a daily, basis. If I could give a lower rating than one, I certainly would. Coffee while included was of poor quality and not replenished daily and the breakfast as promised was cold cereal. The location, however, was convenient and the restaurant and bars within the structure were good. Avoid this hotel if at all possible.

Would not recommend. The pictures don’t match the property. There is no place to park out front to unload. There was nobody in the closet sized lobby. We had to walk around the property to find someone to check us in after waiting another 20 minutes. The room was very dark even with every light on. The “free” mini bar was a box of M&Ms and a bag of Oreos. No water in the fridge. Coffee machine but no coffee cups. The train at 6:30 am even though we were on the opposite side of the hotel was wonderful. Room decor was a bit worn out, peeling paint, etc. Then nobody at checkout. Then for all the inconvenience we were hit with a $25 amenity fee. Not the experience I expect from a boutique hotel. The only saving grace is the Red Herring restaurant where the staff was delightful and the food delicious. Eat at the restaurant but don’t stay in the hotel.

We had an outstanding experience at Hotel Herringbone. If you’re looking for something a little different, Waco has a lot to offer. I highly recommend a stay at this modern concept hotel made of shipping containers. The rooms have a very cool vibe with comfortable beds. The courtyard is full of fun shops and the property is close to the Dr Pepper Museum, the Magnolia Silos and the River Walk. We enjoyed the views and the breeze from the rooftop bar. The Red Herring restaurant has a unique menu with delicious food. We were very impressed with the staff, especially Courtney at the front desk who helped us with an issue and saved the day!
