Hands down the absolute BEST aviation experience I've ever had, and that's coming from someone who works heavily within aviation.Matt is not only one of the friendliest guys in all of Girdwood(his dog Roo too!), but a phenomenal aviator and pilot who knows his topography and airspace extremely well. He pointed out numerous natural landmarks such as glaciers, mountain names and streams and rivers like it were the back of his hand. I had to remind myself to take photos just because he was such an amazing aerial guide! We landed in the Mat-Su valley for some coffee and snacks on a little hill rise. To be surrounded by mountains and encompassed with a glacier lake was truly stunning. The flight back was scenic as it was serene, and while we may have encountered some snow flurries you could barely tell with how smooth Matt was at the controls. Absolutely buttered all the landings and I look forward to going up with him again! Don't sleep on Goat Mountain Air! Best bang for your buck for authentic Alaskan bush plane flying.

I had the opportunity to fly with Goat Mountain Air on several recent Alaska adventures, and am thrilled with my overall experience. Matt is an incredibly talented pilot- from smooth backcountry landings to maneuvering through complex mountain ranges, his skills are absolutely unmatched! I appreciated his knowledge of the area and ability to spot wildlife, elevating the experience even further. Matt is both kind and communicative, and his relaxed demeanor easily translates to his passengers. I would highly recommend flying with Matt and Goat Mountain Air!

I can’t say enough good things about Goat Mountain Air - Matt was an incredible guide the entire time. I had never been on a small plane before and was a bit nervous and he made me feel so comfortable… he’s incredible at what he does and he’s so knowledgeable about the area. I’m already looking forward to booking with him for a ski trip this winter!

I will spend the rest of my life trying to top this insanely cool experience. The plane ride out and back from Lake Clark seemed like the perfect excursion. I would've been happy with the plane ride alone, even if we didn't land the plane and walk alongside bears. The views were insane while in the plane and after touching down. The plane ride was perfectly smooth and we had the most epic time watching the brown bears so close. I felt super safe the entire time, even though I was a little nervous before the trip. I had my pilot friend look at Matt's credentials before I left for the trip and my friend was extremely impressed with Matt's flying experience. (Yes, I really was that nervous of flying, and yes all my nerves went away as soon as Matt introduced himself). He also carried bear spray and a bear gun which had me feel extra safe while on the ground. Matt kept a respectable distance from the bears and shared so many facts with us. There wasn't a single time during the trip where I felt uncomfortable. We had a delicious lunch from a local chef on the wings of the plane. Matt was extremely accommodating. He even dropped us off in Anchorage on the way back from Lake Clark. My husband and I agreed that in addition to the spectacular views and crazy interactions with bears, one of our favorite parts of the trip was talking with Matt. He is a super interesting guy and we hope to do more trips with him in the future. I cannot recommend highly enough to book a trip with Goat Mountain Air.
