tripadvisorDon't use this BAIT and Switch Travel Agency! Our Original Itinerary contained many venues they simply removed. I was told they were removed because of the Hurricane Ian over two years ago. I called almost all of the venues, and they were open and doing business. I could not contact all as the Itinerary changed up till the day we left. The agency presented this Itinerary in January of 2024, so if that statement were true, why present it for purchase? I would have cancelled the tour had I purchased the insurance as the itinerary changed many times at the last minute. In fact, the final was not given till the day before we left via email. I called almost all the venues that were removed from the original Itinerary (the one I used to decide if I wanted to go on the trip) and they were ALL open. Eight of the site seeing experiences were removed from the Itinerary and replaced with a day of shopping. Additionally, there was not a ‘guided’ tour of Edison & Ford Estates. I certainly don’t think ‘download the app on arrival counts as a guided tour’ when other groups did have a tour guide of the grounds. Several of us would have paid to see the Morean Art Center. Your guide said she would map out the route. However, after the Dali, the drop of site was a mile walk and we needed to be back to the bus by 4:30. I was not dropped off till about 2 so that was a no go. MISSING TOURS:- Contemporary Glass Art Tour – Imagine Museum- Boardwalk arts district- Morean Art Center- Florida Aquarium- Manatee View Center- Circus Trolley Tour- CROW- Bowman’s Beach- John’s Pass Village and Board walk.- Travel to the Everglades occurred on a Sunday, many of the shops at the Promenade at Bonita Bay were closed. That day we spent at least 6 hours on the bus.The trip to Sanibel was a waste of time. Eating lunch on the gem of the Gulf coast certainly does not equate to a day of exploration of the beautiful beaches and island. And we went on a Saturday, which resulted in no were to park the bus to explore the beach. You/Your Guide are the professionals and should have planned the itinerary appropriately. With the exception of the hotel in Sarasota, the other hotels were certainly not in an area where we could use our free time to explore. Actually, even though the Seaside hotel was dated, those were the 3 days I enjoyed on this tour. On the last day of the trip, the entire day with the exception of 90 minutes was spent shopping. We could have used that day to visit Sanibel since it was so close. I would have done so (as would some of the others), on my own if we would have stayed in Cape Coral were we could have gotten a taxi or something to get back and forth. Your tour guide knew several of the attendees wanted to visit Bowman’s beach. As I was not the only one to request this. Her response of ‘what’s so special about Bowman’s beach’ only reaffirms that she had no idea of the area. Day 3 featured, again SHOPING TIME at Dunedin. We could have visited the Florida Aquarium or one of the other tours as was listed in the original itinerary. I heard someone say; oh we have an extra dinner. No, it was not an extra dinner it made up for the lunch we were to receive. Your guide certainly did not correct this as I assume you want to continue doing business with that group. Additionally, on that day many of the passengers did not do the shopping trip because of the walking. One particular single participant missed the dinner. Since it was a ‘family style’ dinner, not sure why the guide could not have asked for a take-out container for her. And just so you know, a couple at our table thought the main course was the appetizer! The meal consisted of Gator Bites, Mixed Vegetables and deviled eggs which were served in small portions. One positive is the Meal at the Columbia Restaurant and Dolphin Cruise was both tasty and the venue was good. Breakfast was also good.
