tripadvisorAmazing views from the flat path and at the summit! We took the hard way up - a very steep incline that was full of rocks, This was technical and difficult - a real challenge. We saw a group of incredible paragliders which gave us welcome breaks from hiking as we watched them glide from the top down the mountain. Super cool! We took the beaten path the way down which was much simpler to hike.
MoreHad a beautiful afternoon so decided to do a hike we hadn't before.Loved it, took the short trail which is tough but not too bad bc its only .5 mile. My 6&7yo crushed it. Views are amazing! Took the longer way down and that was a very nice trail also. Do it if you have the chance!
MoreWhat a wonderful view! I took the hard way and it is hard extremely steep but well worth the work out! I climbed all the way to the M and then decided to keep going! Once you reach the burnt forest you are about half way to the bottom on Mt baldy but dont be fooled it is far!! I started at the bottomOf the M around 10 am and didnt come down until 1 pm.
MoreVery good trail right next to town. Not a wilderness experience, but it's great exercise with great scenery. You have two length/steepness options to arrive at the same point; you can climb the 850 vertical feet in either three miles (moderate) or in just one mile (brutal). I like to go up the steep way and come back down the gradual way.
MoreSome of the people I worked with during the previous week told me about this hike and the fantastic views you got at the top. But they were clear that I should take the longer path even though it was longer. Sadly I didn’t listen and opted to take the shorter, steeper path. Boy was it rough. I’m pretty sure my heart and lungs were trying to escape my chest as I slowly made my way up. It was all worth it for the views you get once you reach the M. It isn’t obvious the M is there, but it is where there are three benches, a retaining wall and the trail levels off. I actually had to go back to take photos of it (I blame the pain I was in and my heavy breathing). The longer path was much more gradual and helped my breathing calm down. The views throughout were amazing and the trails were well marked (need a sign for the M). Even though I hiked on a Monday, it was busy and there were lots of people with dogs (which I loved). The parking lot isn’t large, but there was a constant flow of people coming and going. Loved doing it.
