tripadvisor4 of us drove to Mobile to take the Trolley tour. What a great experience, Arthur (our guide) was a wealth of information and great guide. We all agreed we will do it again on our return visit next year.
MoreBefore the trolley ride begins, the tour guide starts with a 30-minute exposition of Mobile's history that covers hundreds of years. I believe the trolley ride is typically an hour and half, but this ran a little long. There were just a handful of us along for the ride as we were in town for the day: me and two couples each from three different states. We passed other tourist attractions like the Carnival Museum, The Fort of Colonial Mobile, Richards DAR House Museum, USS Alabama Battleship, Battle House Hotel, and Bienville Square. The tour is $20 per person and there are two meetup spots to board/departure the trolley: the main meetup is at the Mobile Welcome Center and the other meetup is at USS Alabama Battleship. The trolley is air-conditioned, which is great for the warmer seasons. This would be great as a hop-on/-hop-off tour to really get an interactive introduction to downtown Mobile. That would elevate the experience of this activity.
MoreThis was a spur of the moment excursion for my husband and me! We had just finished visiting the USS Alabama Memorial and the trolley pulled up in front of the gift shop. After finding out the price ($20.00) we boarded and, for the next 2 hours or so, enjoyed a fantastic ride around Mobile, with one stop at the visitors’ center. The driver was very knowledgeable and showed off this revitalized town. Wow! We learned SO much. If you are into history and viewing restored historic homes, this is the way to go. The trolley had A/C and was very comfortable. I highly recommend this tour, especially if walking around town in the heat is not your gig.
MoreVery Nice sightseeing tour! Fantastic guide, exceptional informative. Tour departs from visitor center. Two gentleman were working at the time on our visit April 2024. They were very welcoming and were a wealth of information. We wish we had more time to explore. Gave a fantastic lunch suggestion that all of us on the tour enjoyedMobile is an inexpensive and welcoming place that I hope to return to soon
