My 13-year-old son and I flew to Texas in large part to come visit Dragonstone Ranch. My son is a wild animal enthusiast and we both had an amazing time. Monty and Mimi, the owners, were warm and friendly hosts and clearly are passionate about what they do. We did the two hour animal experience and got to interact with so many different animals up close and personal. The coatis and lemurs were our favorite! We would definitely recommend a visit and it’s well worth travel time to come and experience this amazing place

As a veterinarian with over 40 years of experience working with dogs, cats, and exotic animals in zoos, I’ve had the privilege of visiting numerous private and municipal zoos across the country. Recently, I had the pleasure of touring DragonStone Ranch, located just north of Austin, and I can confidently say it is the most impressive facility I have encountered. The animals at DragonStone Ranch are in impeccable condition, clearly benefiting from the highest standards of care. The enclosures are not only spacious but thoughtfully designed with abundant enrichment to ensure the animals' physical and mental well-being. A thorough review of their husbandry practices reveals a level of dedication and expertise that is unparalleled in the field. The owners, Mimi and Monty Roach, have set a new benchmark for excellence in exotic animal ownership. Their commitment to the welfare of their animals and the quality of their facility is evident in every aspect of DragonStone Ranch. I give this establishment my highest recommendation and consider it a model for both private and public zoos.DragonStone Ranch has truly raised the bar in exotic animal care and management, and I encourage anyone interested in wildlife and conservation to visit this extraordinary sanctuary.
