We were back in Michiana recently for a family gathering and pretty much stumbled upon this smaller intimate riverside park with a canoe launch. The canoe launch is actually an ADA Compliant Canoe/Kayak launch device equipped with safety rails. The small park is located along the riverbank of the St. Joseph River, and is bordered by the Main Street Bridge, Beardsley Avenue and the River. There are no facilities nor playground equipment — however there are a few park benches facing the river. The large trees along the riverbank create a beautiful natural canopy of shade. The park grounds are very well maintained & manicured. Based on the signage mounted to the gate at the entrance near the intersection of Main Street & Beardsley Avenue — the park gateway is closed during winter’ inclement weather (steep incline).
