tripadvisorWe had great time renting 3 Surrey bikes and riding along Deschutes River and Old Mill. Best customer service, they went above and beyond opening up for our group of 16 when we called inquiring about same afternoon rental. Highly recommend this place for bicycle rentals.
MoreWe were staying at a vacation rental up near River House and walked to Old Mill District (4 miles). There were 7 people in our party so we thought renting a couple of bikes for two days would be good fun. Our bikes were multi-speed and put the rider in an upright position. They were pretty comfortable but after 10 of 15 miles, I could feel it on my lower back, mostly because we were riding the Deschutes Trail and not on pavement the whole time. I will say though, I have a telescoping fishing rod and was able to cover miles of river in no time, stopping at each fishing hole and then moving on if it wasn't productive. The wife and I were going to ride a little bit, but she got on, rode about 100 feet and said, No way! Too uncomfortable. I think it would be nice to rent a recumbent bike but we had a long way to go. My advice is that this is great for around the Mill District but if you plan to ride further than that or use it at your vacation rental, I would go somewhere that has more selection. For those that want to rent the chopper bikes or little car bikes, I think it would be great for a couple of hours.
MoreFun little ride with a bike that sat four people. Kids were able to pedal and it was a nice little ride. I would just caution that this bike will WEAR YOU OUT, but a great way to tour the Old Mill.
MoreWe rented one of the 4 person car bikes and man are they difficult to get going. Our kids sat in the back while we sat in the front and pedaled away. You can take the path along the river in a loop and come back - probably took less than 30 mins. We stopped halfway by the first bridge to take a break and allow the kids to play on the playground. There's not a lot of places to go with the bike and the fact that you don't get going very fast is probably the reason why. The kids enjoyed it but I'm sure they wouldn't been fine without the experience.
MoreMy wife and rented on a Saturday morning one of the peddle cars built for two. I have really strong legs and it was tough to peddle and steer this. We just went about a mile down the paved path down the river and back up. There was some fundraiser walkathon going on that created a LOT of people on the trail. We paid $25 for a hour but checked it in after only 45 minutes. This was a lot of work and not a lot of fun. With all the construction and lack of clearly defined bike trails in town, we were very glad we didn't drop $25 for a bike each for four hours.
