While vacationing in Boulder, CO, I contacted Jim Robb of Zia Adventures. I picked up his card at the reception area of the Hotel Boulderado, and was intrigued by the idea of “obscure rides.” I wasn’t exactly looking for an e-bike adventure, but rather a peaceful guided tour without the hassle of driving ourselves on unknown roads. Jim picked us up at our hotel and took us on a three+ hour tour through the mountains, sharing with us the history and geography of the area. As a long-time resident of Boulder himself, Jim’s personal knowledge and experiences of the area were very enjoyable to hear! We stopped on a beautiful ridge overlooking a valley amidst the mountains, where we enjoyed a picnic of wine and charcuterie, served by Jim. We gazed down on the Aspen trees as they had just begun turning a bright, warm, golden yellow color. We also observed a herd of elk resting in an open area in another valley. On a personal level, we found Jim to be warm, welcoming, and delightful. I would absolutely recommend Jim and Zia Adventures to anyone!
