Although Birding Is The World Brazil is known for its group tours of Brazil, I've now used them twice for private tous in Panama and Colombia. They have a good network of local guides and can really customize a trip. I'd definitely use again. This last trip was in a remote part of Panama, and they handled everything from airport pickup to agreements in small hotels (that one can't even find never mind book on the internet), to boat transportation where the Pan Pacific road ends in Darien, Of course, the best part is a saw the Harpy eagle and got to experience part of Panama that is off the beaten path,.

Brazil was wonderful. All the travels arrangements ran smoothly. Our tour guide, Thomaz, was very knowledgeable about birds, especially area hummingbirds, and was also very personable. The variety of lodges was good, and while some were more rustic than others, the accommodations were fine and the food delicious. At those locations that only served breakfast, Thomaz took us to interesting restaurants that he knew and liked, and we enjoyed them too. I was able to photograph many species of hummingbirds that were new to me, including some endemics. Thomaz has a great relationship with all the lodge owners, and at one location we were invited to the owner’s home to visit his personal hummingbird garden. The visit to INMA (National Institute of the Atlantic Forest) museum and grounds was a real treat. Overall, I would highly recommend this trip, and the only areas for improvement would be to have additional multi-flash backgrounds available, and to add an additional strobe to the multi flash set up. Thomaz was aware of my concerns, and did his best to address them during the tour. I would hope that any future tour will have these improvements.

Wow I don't the enough wors to express how this trip with Birding if the World Brazil offer me at the beginning of January 2024. When my friend Maira Oakar offer me a spot on the Woman tour to Manaus Brazil I was like I don't know noting about Birding she told me, try it you will be amazed and yes I did it and I was more than amazed. Lost the fears of traveling alone.This trip with an amazing group of Woman, I got to meet and know, was the most amazing experience of traveling in my life. They thought me from the bottom of their hearts what Birding with Woman is about. Is bonding time and touring the most amazing parts of The Amazonas, Brazil!!! Maira, my friend, I cannot thank you enough for inviting me and guiding me through this experience. This has been engraved in my heart. If you reading this, as a Woman, don't be afraid to do something like this, Birding is amazing and with Birding Is the World Brazil will be the company that will make your trip unforgettable. Birding in the World Brazil posted to Facebook about a Harpy Eagle tour in Brazil. I contacted them, but by the time I did the harpy Eagle chick in Brazil had fledge and the parents no longer came to the nest. However, they knew of a nest in Colombia and created a private tour for me. I also knew Colombia had swordbilled hummingbirds, a bird I missed in Quito a few years ago, so I added that to my desired species. The found a guide to accompany me, and the trip went off without a hitch. I got my target species and many more, including much better views of the cock-of-the-rock than I had in Ecuador. The guides and the food were exceptional. The infrastructure for birding isn’t as built up as some countries like Costa Rica. , this also meant there were no tour buses of 60 people trying to photograph rare birds with a cell phone. In Colombia., the bird species were plentiful and I got close enough for great viewsI’ll be back next year.

I fully enjoyed my trip with a group of women to explore birds in the Amazon region of Brazil. If you're undecided on whether to join an upcoming tour, just do it!
