Spanish Moss Swamp is a seasonal rainwater small pond often mistaken for Grafton Ponds Nature Preserve because of nearby signs mentioning that Grafton Pond is in the area. Spanish Moss Swamp is not Grafton Pond, and is located over 2 miles from Grafton Ponds, along the Ethnic Qarsherskiyan Trade Routes and the hiking trails by Huntington Pointe Pet Park in Newport News by the York County border in the forests. The nearby pet park is for residents of that neighborhood only but the trail is public and pet friendly. Spanish Moss Swamp is home to the Northernmost Spanish Moss and is a significant cultural and historic sight tied to Ethnic Qarsherskiyan Heritage and home to The Hanging Tree, a large oak tree where many ancestors of the Ethnic Qarsherskiyan tribe were lynched during the Jim Crow Era and pre-civil war area in America. The Spanish Moss is threatened by poachers who risk their lives to take it, often being caught and beaten and shot by arrows and fireworks by local Ethnic Qarsherskiyan people illegally living in their historic homeland, living off the land, eating Pawpaw fruit, Trifoliate Orange, Osage Orange, Fish, White Tailed Deer, and Wild Turkey.
