By chance, I wandered into this bookstore when it opened in mid December 2024 and have been a fan ever since. It’s the first bookstore devoted to romance in the Boston area and has now won several awards (Best of Boston 2025, 2026, and Boston Business Women’s Award for Best Bookstore 2025).Every kind of romance story imaginable can be found on the shelves. There’s also general fiction, young adult titles, and a children’s section. In addition, a good selection of related merchandise is available. The cozy bar/cafe area has been under renovation this August and is due to reopen in a few days. During previous visits when the cafe was crowded, I always met interesting people. One time, a couple from Vermont on a day trip to Cambridge, shared their table with me. It was a pleasure to speak with them. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and also help with the many author and special events. I’m looking forward to the annual “Practical Magic” celebration in October.During my visit earlier this week, I was surprised to see a special exhibit, “Holding the Moment: the Romance Cover Art of Elaine Gignilliat.” I looked her up online and was astonished at the passionate life she had lived! She could have written her own romance novel. This bookstore is a gem; recommended with pleasure!

This bookstore is a glorious haven of books. We came here to escape the rain for a bit during Mayfair, and we ended up staying for longer because we loved the cozy atmosphere so much. There's a George Howell coffeeshop inside, and you can browse the whimsical shop for as long as you'd like. It can get busy in here (there was someone standing at the entrance to let people in because the store was at full capacity), but it wasn't loud or obnoxiously full. I loved the floral decorations at the entrance as well. The staff were really nice - I had to use the restroom after ordering my drink, and one of the baristas brought me my drink afterwards, just to make sure I got my drink.

Was a literal dream come true for me. The excitement of seeing such a well stocked, gorgeous, and dreamy setting for happy endings was nonstop. You can find any romance trope here whether by indie authors or by NY Times bestsellers. The staff was friendly and helpful with ALL the romance genre knowledge and the themed drinks to sip on made spending time here a blast. I never wanted to leave. Definitely worth a hop on the T to visit if you are in Boston or a drive if in the area ♥️
