Amazing staff. They go above and beyond. Alex the front desk agent was very knowledgeable and acomadsting with all our questions. Micheal at wildwood was an amazing host who knew the menu and explained the history of the hotel. Ruth and ashmad provided great food service at wildwood. Timothy the food and beverage manager was a delight who was very welcoming and satisfying for reccomedation on the menus. Mel was one of the best host for our stay, as a concierge. We loved every staff member we came into contact with at this property. You won't find views like this at any other hotel in this area. We are grateful for every touch and amenity that was provided for our stay.

I stayed here with my company as part of a large group, and we had a wonderful experience! The hotel is absolutely beautiful, the rooms are stunning, and I really loved the design. Everything feels modern, unique, and thoughtfully done. What stood out the most, though, was how genuinely nice everyone was. Every colleague I spoke with was equally impressed with the hotel and the service. I would absolutely recommend staying here

We had an extraordinary stay at One&Only Moonlight Basin celebrating my birthday that was beyond anything I could have ever expected or imagined! The property is breathtakingly beautiful, including the views of the mountains as well as the modern and elegant design of the resort. Everything is new and high quality with every possible amenity including pools, gym, spa, and family room with games. We booked the Big Sky Suite and I highly recommend it as it was huge and really impressive, with wraparound stunning views, an outdoor hot tub, and exquisite furniture and details. But what really stood out were the people who took care of us, and they absolutely deserve recognition. I will start with Laura Dominguez, the resort manager, who went above and beyond to make my birthday special. I was deeply touched by her kindness, generosity, and all the thoughtful details she arranged for us. There were so many wonderful surprises, and I could feel her care and passion in what she does. It meant a lot to me that she put so much thought into everything. Laura is an amazing person and I feel very lucky to have met her. She is truly a gem of a person and I had the pleasure of connecting with her several times throughout our stay. She always made me feel so special and cared for. Our hosts, Jorge and Victoria, were also exceptional! They were so warm and helpful, communicated wonderfully and promptly, and took such good care of us throughout our stay. They paid attention to the little things and added so many thoughtful touches to make my birthday feel super special. We really appreciated having them looking after us!I also want to thank Whitney at the spa, who gave me the best massage of my life! She was incredibly talented, sweet, and caring. I left feeling so relaxed and in absolute bliss. Highly recommend a massage from her!Dining was also a highlight and Chef Tony at Akira Back was amazing! We had a truly memorable and unique dining experience where he made the most delicious food and we were blown away by his talent, his attention to detail was outstanding. What made it even better was how kind and friendly he was. He’s not only a fantastic chef but also a genuinely wonderful person. Dinner at Akira Back is definitely a must! Wildwood was also great and breakfast each morning was something to look forward to with an abundance of options and warm service from everyone working there. Thank you to everyone at the hotel who helped make my birthday so memorable. I'm incredibly grateful for all the kindness we received. The property is stunning, but it was the people who truly made this stay unforgettable. We had such a wonderful time and are already looking forward to coming back!

Beautiful setting, but deeply disappointing standards at $5,000 per nightWe spent five nights in a Two-Bedroom Big Sky Cabin at One&Only Moonlight Basin, paying approximately US$5,000 per night before taxes. Having stayed at numerous luxury hotels around the world, we arrived with high expectations for our first One&Only experience. Unfortunately, whilst the setting is spectacular and many of the staff were genuinely warm and friendly, the overall experience fell considerably short of what we would expect from an ultra-luxury resort. Our biggest disappointment was the ongoing construction. Our cabin was situated alongside a road regularly used by construction and service vehicles, including vehicles accelerating past at around 6am. Walking trails advertised as part of the resort experience were obstructed by construction vehicles or churned into mud by heavy traffic. Rather than enjoying a peaceful woodland retreat, we were constantly reminded that significant parts of the resort were still being developed. After raising our concerns, the Host Manager assured us that construction activity would cease for the remainder of our stay. Unfortunately, it resumed two days later.Construction is understandable, but charging fully completed ultra-luxury resort prices whilst guests experience such disruption is not. At this price point, we should not have been paying to experience what felt like a resort still under construction. We also experienced a complete failure of our cabin’s air conditioning. Despite being set to 16°C, the system heated the cabin throughout the night, leaving it unbearably hot. None of our family slept, and our youngest daughter suffered a nosebleed during the night. Although the engineering team resolved the problem the following morning, losing an entire night’s sleep was extremely disappointing.Beyond these major issues, there were numerous operational shortcomings:* Pool service was consistently slow and understaffed, with used plates and glasses frequently left uncleared for extended periods.* On two consecutive mornings, the resort had run out of avocados by 10am, despite breakfast continuing until 11am. The pool restaurant also ran out of guacamole.* Service generally lacked the consistency, anticipation and attention to detail we associate with hotels at this price point.Travelling with two young children, we were also disappointed by the lack of thoughtful touches for families. There were no children’s welcome gifts, child-sized robes or slippers, children’s toiletries or other small gestures to make our daughters feel particularly welcome. At other luxury hotels, these details are often what make a family holiday genuinely memorable. It felt like a missed opportunity.I do want to acknowledge that the Host Manager engaged with us personally and offered compensation, which we appreciated. Many individual members of staff were also lovely. However, good complaint handling cannot compensate for so many fundamental shortcomings.Following our stay, I sent a detailed and constructive email to Kerzner, One&Only’s parent company, on 18 July, explaining our experience. Three months later, I have received no response whatsoever. This has only reinforced my disappointment with the brand.Ultimately, luxury is not simply about impressive architecture or breathtaking views. It is about exceptional service, thoughtful details and making guests feel genuinely cared for.Moonlight Basin undoubtedly has enormous potential, and the location is extraordinary. However, at approximately $5,000 per night, guests should be receiving a truly exceptional experience, not one characterised by construction disruption, operational inconsistencies and avoidable problems. We had hoped that our first One&Only stay would inspire us to visit other properties in the collection. Instead, it has left us questioning whether the brand delivers the standards its reputation and pricing promise. Two stars for the beautiful setting and the kindness of some of the staff. Unfortunately, I could not recommend the resort at its current standard and price point.
