tripadvisorHubby, my sister, her adult son and I traveled down the Madison River for a half day float with the amazing and entertaining Ken Sinay. A master of the area, we learned so many interesting aspects of this treasured spot. Beavers! Beavers lodges, eating habits, winter storage facts and he shared his beaver skull to illustrate their hearing protections. Ken knew his local birds and animals - we saw soooo many! He's got great binoculars to share. We snacked on lovely fruits. The 4hrs flew by. We were refreshed when done. Don't miss spending time with Ken!
MoreMy husband and I had an amazing time on the river with our guide Ken Sinay. The trip down the Madison/Jefferson rivers was a trip to remember. Not only was Ken professional, personable and fun to be with, he is a walking encyclopedia of knowledge about the history of the river, the Missouri Headwaters, the Lewis & Clark expedition, the natural world and wildlife (mammals, birds, amphibians, plants, Insects -- you name it!). His colorful, interesting stories and facts about all of the above had us riveted. He knows the river by heart and is a master at floating to special spots in order to view wildlife of all kinds (close-up and through his binocs and spotting scope). We especially enjoyed watching the Bald Eagles feasting on fish and learning about the Beaver lodges! The boat was very comfortable and made riding the river with Ken a highlight of our Summertime adventures. Don’t miss this experience.
MoreWOW!! We recently joined Ken Sinay on a float trip on the Madison River. This was a last minute request on our last day in Montana and we spoke the night before briefly arranging time and place and explaining what we wanted to see. We were not expecting a travel guide with the wealth of information this amazing man has in his head! Professional, charming and personable, Ken Sinay is by far the best guide we have ever encountered anywhere. He knew the history of the region, he knew what every insect was, he knew every bird in the sky and where it flew; he knew how to find every mammal - marmot, beaver and mink. He found us 2 huge bull moose - on the bank of the river, as well as some white tailed deer. He told us as well about the rivers, the typography of the region, the history of Lewis and Clark and so much more. This trip was well worth every penny and 4 hours just flew by..! Highly, highly recommend any tours Mr. Sinay does, or listening to his lectures on Youtube ! Thank you again Ken, for a memorable day. Linda Knisely, Virginia
MoreMy friends and I did a river trip with Ken through the Madison River to watch wildlife. From beginning to end, Ken was friendly, professional, responsive, and incredibly helpful in planning and curating our trip. The trip was about 4 hours and the route along the river was quiet and had plenty of wildlife. To list a few, we saw a moose, a beaver, bald eagles, pelicans, deer, etc.Ken is an expert when it comes to spotting and identifying animals from far away. He shared so many facts about each animal we encountered and did not give up when an animal would appear then disappear. He provided everything we could need and made sure we were comfortable on his boat. I highly recommend booking a tour with Ken!
MoreI floated the Madison River from Three Forks to the Missouri River and took out at in Headwaters State Park. Ken was an excellent tour guide. Birding was the focus of our group and we saw many different species as well as a mouse, muskrat and beaver, His boat is a flat-bottomed aluminum boat. It was custom made for Ken and Ken set up lawn chairs (with cushions) so it seemed like were floating down the river on a deck. Ken can tailor his floats to accommodate your interests, i.e. flora. fauna, wildlife, history, geology, geography...you name it. Floating with Ken is a great way to entertain your visiting guests.
