K4 Studios is the fine art photography and narrative western art practice of Wayne Heim — a Star Valley, Wyoming native and award-winning medical illustrator with thirty-five years of experience communicating complex stories through single arrested images. Wayne's work spans painterly photography, western narrative art, historical reenactment photography, and the Engrained series — fine art works printed directly onto raw wood panels where the natural grain becomes part of the image. His One-Image Movie format combines cinematic composition, painterly light, and short narrative text to create works that ask the viewer to step inside an unresolved moment and complete the story themselves.
