I had to stop at Blue Star because of a car issue and am so glad that I did. The manager works so hard, and the hotel is affordable, near the interstate and Lafayette Downtown.

This is one if the worse runs hotels I have ever had the misfortune to stay at. First, we were given a room that certainly couldn't have been cleaned in several months. The carpet was sticky, the bathroom was just icky and there were two beds with one pillow between them and no sheets!! My husband went to the front where he was told that Oh it wasn't 208, it was 108 we were supposed to be in , so we moved ourselves and our cat to 108. Not much of an improvement. The carpeting had dust and what could have been mold along the edges, there was an empty French fry box behind the dresser, which was falling apart, the door didn't close so any bug or critters could make their way in; and 8 roaches did just that. The fridge door didn't close partly due to the buildup of ice and partly due to it being bent so much that it couldn't have closed any way. The bathtub was nearly black on the floor. But it was the roaches that really got the attention. They say you get what you pay for but this was way overpriced for what we got!! My recommendation? Stay anywhere else but this 'roach motel'.

I was traveling alone and wanted a cheaper hotel. Searched using Kayak and found the Rodeway Inn at 2111 NW Evangeline Trwy, Lafayette, LA. It was a listing by Hotwire which I have had excellent results with in the past. With Hotwire, you don't know the hotel until you pay for it. They showed the rating as 3 stars so I chose it. They offered cancellation insurance and I paid for that too. I arrived at the hotel and the Rodeway Inn was no where to be found. It was the Super 7 Inns and Suites Kitchenettes. There was a name change along the way but I was not informed of it. There were 4 adult males hanging out under the entrance and my perception was that it was a drug deal in progress. Besides not being the hotel I was supposed to get, I didn't feel safe so I went to the night window and cancelled the room. They stated there are no refunds and the cancellation insurance was not honored. I left without going to the room, so I did not actually sleep in this hotel. I contacted Hotwire and the company with the cancellation insurance and got nowhere. I then sent an email to Hotwire asking for an appeal. I am still waiting for an answer but have no confidence that they'll refund my money. THE TRIPADVISOR REVIEWS ARE BAD FOR THIS HOTEL. 22 OF 41 REVIEWS SHOW TERRIBLE OR POOR. HAVE EYES WIDE OPEN WHEN CHOOSING TO STAY HERE. IT MAY BE AN OK HOTEL BUT I DIDN'T GET THAT FAR TO FIND OUT.

A/C didn't work in first room, changed rooms, had no microwave and they refused to let me use one for 1 night. They did not care about the negative rating I was going to give. Guy up front thought it was funny.

Avoid this place! The room was abselutly filthy and dirty!! We had to wear foodwear inside to avoid the carpet. 1 of the towels was used, the toilet was running, the door would not shut tigth, the door was broken it had prevosly been kicked in since the bolt was broken off, did not feel saf sleeping in there, nor leave out things in there. Got woken up In the middel of the night of loud by music and yelling, multipel times during the night. We found a cockroach and there was mold fridge!We came late and left early and slept through it even tho it was so dirty!! I dont think the room have been cleaned last couple of months. There were so many stains on the bed and chairs, and the table was sticky. And ofc the tv didnt work. The ac could only do full cooling, which was so nosiy we had to shut it off, which was only possible by pulling the plug from the wall since the buttons was broken.During our roadtrip we have stayed at many cheap motels and are pretty large with the low standard, but this was just disgusting!!
