tripadvisorIn June I took Sarah's Horton's Explore OKC Tour through downtown OKC with a group of friends. It was excellent! She was a wealth of knowledge pointing out things I never knew about my own hometown! She was very accommodating and all of us had a great time! Loved that we each had earpieces to be able to hear regardless of traffic!
MoreThis tour is a fantastic way to experience the vibrant history and culture of Oklahoma City. Led by a passionate local guide, the journey takes you through the city's incredible story—from the Boom of its early days to the Bust and its remarkable transformation into the championship city it is today. The tour's topics are captivating and diverse, covering everything from the oil industry and famous madams to the OKC Bombing and a significant Civil Rights event. Combining both walking and streetcar travel, you'll cover a lot of ground and see many key landmarks. It's a fun, educational, and engaging experience that, in my opinion, is the best way to get a feel for the modern frontier that is Oklahoma City.
MoreIf you're looking for an unforgettable way to explore Oklahoma City, book a tour with Explore OKC —you won't regret it. Sarah is not just a tour guide, she’s a storyteller, a historian, and a passionate local who brings the city to life in the most engaging way.The pace of the tour was perfect: relaxed but efficient. We never felt rushed, but we also never felt like we were standing around waiting for something to happen. Sarah knew exactly how to move us from one spot to the next with a natural flow. She introduced us to hidden hot spots we would’ve totally missed on our own, but the highlights were some of OKC’s most iconic sites—each made richer by Sarah’s unique insights and historical depth. The Oklahoma Land Run Monument was already impressive, but hearing the real stories behind it gave it a whole new meaning. At the First National Center, Sarah shared fascinating details about its art deco architecture and transformation over the decades—something we would’ve just walked past without realizing its importance. And at the Oklahoma City National Memorial Museum, her thoughtful storytelling added layers of emotion and understanding that made the experience even more powerful.Sarah’s deep knowledge, personal warmth, and incredible storytelling ability make this tour feel like more than just sightseeing—it’s a genuine connection to the city’s past, present, and future.Highly recommended for locals and visitors alike. This isn’t just a tour; it’s an experience.
MoreThoroughly enjoyed my time going on a 3-hour walking tour of Oklahoma City with Explore OKC! Sarah is so knowledgable about the history of the city, and the tour is broken up between walking and the OKC streetcar (which has A/C) so the 3-hour tour felt very doable for people of all ages on our tour (ages 20-80). I recommend this tour for anyone visiting but especially for locals to learn more about our great city and state!
