tripadvisorAs of this writing, the Cambria Boston Logan is not open yet, but I’ve already encountered a situation readers should be aware of , especially when booking at a new hotel. In May 2026, I excitedly made a reservation for the new Cambria Hotel Boston Logan Airport opening on September 1, 2026. The reservation appeared in my app. In August, my son was checking the hotel and saw that the opening date had been moved to October 15, 2026. I checked my Choice App and the Cambria reservation was still there. I was unable to call Cambria Boston Logan since they were not open, so I called Cambria Seaport in Boston. The unhelpful Front Desk person told me that they had no information on Cambria Boston Logan since they were all franchises, but she would connect me to reservations. I asked for the reservation phone number in case I was disconnected. She replied to just look it up on choicereservation.com. Easier said than done. I did get disconnected and I looked up the number on choicereservation. com. I’ve learned the hard way that 3rd parties pay to appear at the top so they can scam you. I thought I had found the Choice reservation number, but the site did not identify itself and was asking for personal information, so I hung up. I finally found Choice Reservations. Ricardo was very helpful and confirmed that I could not stay at Cambria Boston Logan due to the delayed October 15th opening. He booked me at another Choice hotel. I explained that I could have arrived to a closed hotel, in the middle of Boston, with no place to stay. After I completed my call, I started to receive emails and a call stating that my Cambria Boston Logan reservation was cancelled. Too little, too late. I’m sure other people besides me booked at Cambria Boston Logan for September. Since Choice delayed the opening, why didn’t they email or notify me in the Choice App of the cancellation. I have since booked with Hyatt. For all the inconvenience and almost disastrous situation in Boston, I was not even offered a discount at the new booking or even loyalty points. I know IHG, Hyatt, or Hilton will make things right. In the future, I will not be choosing “Choice.”
