Launched on Bastille Day, Monday July 14th, 2025, The French Door Cafe is the brainchild of a French mother and daughter team, to create a cozy spot in North County coastal to experience eclectic food and a "French-ish" vibe. Elissa is a pastry chef with a thriving artisan chocolate business, ChocolateByE, and she invested in this space (formerly California Cafe) to expand her production capability, as well as offer some of her favorite foods, from French quiche to Moroccan tagines to British pasties. The space reflects her heritage, with antique French doors hung on the walls - hence the name -, as well as her grandma's copper pot collection. Stop by for a great coffee from a local roaster, some yummy food, and/or to practice your French!
