MoreWhat a great experience. Found a lovely dress. They women working that day began an alteration immediately, at 4:00, and then delivered the dress to my house at 5:30. Amazing customer service and made the experience so much fun.

MoreI have shopped several times at L' Atelier on Laurens and found it to be my 'it' store for clothing in downtown Aiken. This contemporary clothing store fits all my criteria. Contemporary designs, quality fabrics, and price point. It's the best in downtown Aiken meeting this criteria for women and the owner is now bringing men's clothing in 2026.
MoreText: While visiting family in Aiken on July 11, my husband and I stopped into L'atelier on Laurens. At first, I loved the shop and tried on several items. I was interested in a silver blouse, but they didn’t have my size (Large). I was advised to try the pink version in Large, and if it fit, they could order the silver and ship it to my home in Annapolis. The Large was tight across my chest, so I asked about an XL. The manager told me the silver didn’t come in XL, but she believed the pink did. I gave my information, paid for the blouse, and was told it would be sent.Weeks later, I received a voicemail—not from the manager but from an employee—saying the blouse actually doesn’t come in XL and to contact the store to “decide how to handle it.” Since I was returning to Aiken in August, I waited to resolve it in person. On 8/20, I went to the store, only to be told the manager wasn’t in and to come back later (despite my explaining I was only in town briefly). Later, I called and spoke with the manager, who immediately treated me as if I were lying. She denied ever saying the blouse came in XL, questioned my chest size inappropriately in front of an employee, and insisted I must have been mistaken. When I went back to the store, I showed her my credit card statement, tried on the blouse again for her, and only then did she admit the Large was too small—but still refused to take responsibility. She repeated multiple times that they “don’t do refunds,” despite the fact that I had never received anything. After much back-and-forth, she finally agreed to process a refund but made it clear she was doing me a favor, even saying she would “look bad” to Shopify. The refund eventually showed up as a pending credit, but the entire experience was unprofessional, dismissive, and unnecessarily unpleasant. I will never shop here again.Update: The Founder of L'Atelier on Laurens sent me a very nice text and is resolving the issue. Much appreciated.
