tripadvisorWent with a girlfriend to get a Jacuzzi room, saw a roach crawling up on the wall. Then when I went to go get dressed seen another one crawling in the bathroom. Left at 1 AM, brought the front desk the tissue with a roach in it and asked for my money back, he said he couldn’t do anything because he was just a night person. I called back in the morning asked to speak to a manager, and I could tell it was the manager that sold me the room on the phone, but lied and said the manager wouldn’t be here until tomorrow. So I drove down there, Trying to get a refund. And he continued to take me back to the same room open the door held his hands out and said there’s no roaches in here, expecting me to find some and still would not give me a refund. A loss is the loss, he should’ve just gave me a refund now this is gonna be way more expensive for him. I even offered to have him give me half back.
MoreMaids took our stuff out of our room, and we had to go to the front desk to get it back which i found very weird, stole one of my expensive chargers from my bag which when i asked didn’t say they took it then i had to convince them to give it back!!!!!!
MoreI called 2/9/2025 to discuss renting a room for 2/21/25-2/22/25 & the person who answered tried to charge me for our service dog & I informed him of the laws and that it is illegal to do so for a service dog. He then asked me medical questions & continued to violate my daughters rights due to hipaa violations as well as ADA required accommodations. I tried to explain to the Indian sounding guy at the Fargo location answering the phone, he hung up on me while I was explaining our USA laws. I called to complain at 301-592-5000 to their main office, he apologized & sent me to supposedly give me a $100 visa gift card… the call was transferred to an outside company to give me a sales pitch for $280 for hotel stays at 5 specific locations across the US & no visa gift card was given to me as promised as well… 0 stars would be my rating if I could. I notice another complaint last year on here as well & so they are knowingly violating the laws at this point.
MorePros: Inexpensive; Friendly staffCons: Pretty much everything elseThis hotel is desperately in need of a total overhaul, or a shut-down. Nearly everywhere in the rooms and hallways is filthy, dilapitated, and gross. Just a few examples:- Filthy and torn carpeting in rooms and hallways- Constant smell of old smoke- Bathroom and shower stall were in poor repair, and had rust and mildew all over- Mattresses were clearly very old, in that they were saggy and stained. Fortunately, we didn't find any bedbugs.- Sofa in our room was so gross that we used bedsheets to cover it for sittingReally the only positives are friendly staff, an OK free breakfast, and a very low price. However, there are substantially better choices at this price point or for a small amount more.I'm somewhat surprised that Choice Hotels, the parent company, hasn't shut this place down yet.
MoreThere was a large, loud, alcohol-fueled middle-of-the -night party in the next room. The desk clerk had to call the police. The party continued perhaps another hour until the police arrived. When we requested a refund, the morning desk clerk was not even apologetic. Said we would should have gotten up, gotten dressed, walked past the drunken partiers, and gone to the front desk at 1:30 am to be entitled to a refund.Because of management attitude, I do NOT recommend.
