tripadvisorWONDERFUL HELPFUL STAFF! From the moment I checked in until the second I checked out. I mean… an amazing group of employees and a cute clean hotel in the middle of everything. I found a new go to! I must’ve needed something from every employee during every shift at one point of my stay and not ONE employee made me feel like I was annoying or asking for too much. They were all accommodating and went out of their way to demonstrate excellent customer service. Great job.
MoreI really do enjoy staying in some of the historic hotels, so long as the property is maintained. You could really tell there was some history here, although it was obvious that a lot of the rooms on my floor had been divided from into smaller rooms. I guess it helped them find an economic niche they could survive in. The hotel was nice overall. I had high thread-count sheets, huge and luxurious pillows, thick towels, and good quality toiletries. It had good amenities, including a laundry room in the basement. They have an attached restaurant, but no continental breakfast. They had many nearby restaurants, including what appeared to once be a large restaurant, Finns, that now houses a bunch of smaller restaurants in addition to the central bar that somewhat captures the feel of a food court but without carts, more like a traditional mall food court. The room rate was very reasonable for a downtown location. While it was a little longer than many people would prefer, I considered it walking distance to the G.R. Brown Convention Center. There are a few panhandler and a couple of mentally ill folks in the vincinity, but nothing you should expect in a downtown. I felt safe, even after dark. If you're looking for a historic hotel to stay in in downtown Houston, this is definitely one to consider.
MoreThis central Houston hotel offers everything you need for your vacation. Transport links to the Metro, central restaurants and bars. Coffee and iced water available 24 hours a day. Excellent service from this hotel. Free laundry service available also if you are staying a while.Highly recommended.
MoreWonderfull overall. Comfy, safe, clean, quiet, and convenient! Perfect for dt visit or extended stay.
MoreOverall it was good. I especially liked that they provided us coffee. However it wasn't favorable to assigned us in a weed smelling floor initially. Upon that issue, it was prompt for them to change the room, therefore we would rate this hotel as 'very good'.
