Pilot Butte, located in Pilot Butte State Scenic Viewpoint, is a prominent volcanic cinder cone rising 500 feet (152.4 meters) above the high desert plains of Central Oregon. This iconic landmark offers panoramic views of the surrounding Cascade Mountains, including the Three Sisters and Mount Bachelor. Visitors can ascend the butte via a winding trail to reach the summit, where interpretive signs provide insights into the area's geological history and natural features.
