Fairly recently converted to a Spark property. Renovations were well done. Common areas including lobby, hallways, carpets, paint and lighting all look new. Rooms are all updated. Doors are new. All furniture, fixtures etc all new. Bed was comfortable. Bathroom was clean. Water pressure was medium, partially due to the shower heads, but it was sufficient. My only caution would be that the AC unit was a little noisy. I could sleep through it but someone sensitive to noise may be kept awake. Street noise could be an issue for light sleepers if you are in a room facing the street. Staying across the hall from those rooms will eliminate that problem. I would have no problem staying here again. Location is convenient to gas, food and stores. Price is right.

The Spark, while lacking in breakfast options, exceeded expectations everywhere else. Super clean rooms, chilled to a balmy 65 degrees made sleeping and comfort a breeze, especially with the expensive tv channel selections that included a late night viewing of Roadhouse. It’s also just a short drive from Akron staples Wally Waffle and Town Tavern, and most importantly Blossom Music Center which is the reason behind our trip. Staff was friendly and helpful, would definitely stay here again and highly recommend others to as well.

This hotel was a great find as it was newly refurbished, less expensive, and pet friendly. The staff welcomed our dog with smiles, pets and treats. It is decorated with bright cheerful colors that go along with the name of the hotel, Spark! Spark is a little more minimalistic than say Hampton Inn in these ways: Spark has a continental breakfast instead of one with hot bacon and eggs, paper cups not glass in the rooms, no lighted mirror around the frame of the mirror. They do have other nice amenities such as the hot coffee with an amazing Coffeemate creamer. I gave this hotel a 4 due to the water for the shower was not very warm. If we were staying more than one night we would have mentioned it to the staff. I could tell this had been an older hotel but was refurbished mostly due to the outside and the squeaky elevator.

The room was spacious, and the bathroom was well supplies. The front desk staff was very helpful. I had difficulty trying to connect to Wi-Fi but they helped me and I'm grateful. The breakfast was hot and the selection was more than adequate ~ eggs, bagels, sausage, juice, cereal, yogurt, bacon, muffins, etc. It was ready on time. Overall, a very good experience.

The entire cleaning staff resigned a couple of weeks ago. No housekeeping service for even long stays. Was not informed upon check in. There is however a small sheet of paper with that info at checking process. Contacted ihg Diamond member concierge, they loop you back to front desk. Virginia and Gail were sweethearts. Perhaps they need to look for another employer. I do not want a canned response from the owners. I want real compensation for services not offered. They did move me to the Double Tree next door. Same slum lord owner no housekeeping service.
