So much more than a history lesson. Our tour guide, in costume and in character as General Washington’s personal secretary (Tobias Lear) was shockingly good. He gave us the tour that really illustrated the life and times, more than any I’ve been on. But beyond that—he snuck in deeper questions about society and democracy itself. It was the best experience of this kind EVER. So much so that I looked it up online to research the actor (Matt Mattingly) and try to view it again. I’m going to be thinking about this for a long time. I hope this guy presents to us college classes or something. What a treasure!

We booked a visit to the Washington Monument and it was fabulous! I couldn’t get over how clean and friendly WDC is. It over exceeded our expectations.
