Old Town Martial Arts is a martial arts studio in Old Town Alexandria offering 3 distinct disciplines under one roof: Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Korean Karate, and traditional Japanese Ju-Jitsu. Adult and kids' classes run seven days a week at 1011 King Street, a short walk from the King Street Metro station. Our Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu program teaches submission grappling for both sport and self-defense and accommodates beginners through experienced practitioners. Kids' BJJ classes serve children ages 5 through 15 with a focus on confidence, coordination, focus, discipline, and anti-bullying skills in a structured, age-appropriate environment. Our Korean Karate program is rooted in post-war Korean tradition and blends history, philosophy, and physical training. Students develop forms, sparring, and conditioning while building self-discipline and resilience. Japanese Ju-Jitsu draws on techniques developed by samurai for the battlefield and adapts them for modern self-defense. The program is non-competitive and includes throws, trips, strikes, joint locks, and submissions taught in a supportive, safety-focused setting. Membership options include single-discipline plans, all-access plans covering every program, and family plans for households training together. Drop-in classes are available for those exploring martial arts for the first time. The studio's approach is intentionally simple: no patches, no medals, no trophies. Strong fundamentals, focused training, & real skill-building.
