tripadvisorWhile this hotel has recently changed names it has not changed management or employees. Nor has it gotten better since changing names. On the surface it’s a nice hotel. But just below, it needs help. The main areas that matter are nice, but outside of that the buildings and grounds are wore out. Heating and air conditioning units that serve the hallways and other areas are down. Housekeeping is all over the place. Not replacing towels, arguing about replacing towels when asked for more. Not making beds when there is nothing on the bed. Not vacuuming for 8 days straight. Bartenders not mixing drinks properly and just winging mixes. Not being properly trained. What a loss of revenue. Food was great. But the only person available to take orders was the bartender. So if it gets busy, good luck. While the food was great, the prices are high. Offering a 15% discount during high food times as “happy hour” is poor business. Where was management? Behind their desk in their offices. Not even bothering to see what’s going on. Room access…. Room key failed every 2 days. What a hassle. Front desk personnel really didn’t care about anything or just didn’t know. Stand up front, smile and check people in…..Overall this hotel is ok considering the buildings have been around for many many years. Management needs training, All employees need training and someone needs to come in to oversee everything as everyone here seems to have gotten very comfortable. I bet turnover is bad too.
MoreThey are transitioning from The Crown Plaza. The breakfast food was cold, plates were dirty, ran out of food and the coffee was terrible. The key cards didn't work for most of the people in our group. Some people had to cancel and rebook their reservations. Our group had vouchers for breakfast. Heading to McDonald's for breakfast instead of using rhe breakfast voucher.
MoreThe room was not in good shape. The breakfast host was completely overwhelmed and would not be able to seat or serve for 20 or 30 minutes upon my arrival therefore I forgot breakfast to have it at the airport. Would avoid if possible.
MoreI’m going to put the description of the hotel room, quoted directly from the site, at the end of this review so you don’t end up in the room I was in. I’m not sure what this hotel was before, but apparently Wyndham spent all their money on the lobby and nothing on the rooms in my section of the hotel. You can tell they are refurbishing one tower based on the massive dumpster in the parking lot. I chose a room without the atrium option thinking if the rooms opened to the atrium they might be loud. As far as I can tell that would not have been an issue as no rooms overlook the atrium. My room was actually outside. I had to leave the lobby, walk outside right across from the pool, to get to my room. The door opened from outside. If it was raining I would have been soaked. Just like a motel. Now for the room…I couldn’t close the door to the room unless I threw my body against it. It hasn’t been redone in ages, or ever, and looks bad. I tried not to look too closely. Putting nice bedding in a run down room doesn’t make it acceptable. There were a few dead bugs on the bedside table but the sheets were clean. The ac was nice and cold. Have you ever been in a room that makes you feel dirty, even when you know you’re clean? This room made me feel that way. Everything was so old and run down, it all just looks dirty.Breakfast was in a separate room off the lobby. An omelet and coffee cost $25 and was not worth it.An online search seemed like pretty slim pickings in the area around the airport. Based on the rating this has I was expecting much better accommodations than I got. Please be sure you call and find out if your room has been refurbished. If not you will be overpaying for a subpar room like I did. Here’s the website description of my room:Comfort meets convenience in our non-smoking room with a mini-refrigerator and safe. Outfitted with 2 Queen beds featuring plush WynRest® bedding, free WiFi, and a flat-screen TV, the relaxing retreat offers everything you need for the ideal stay. In the bathroom, you’ll find a soothing shower, complimentary bath products, hair dryer, and lighted makeup mirror. Additional amenities include a coffee/tea maker, desk, ironing amenities, room service, and our in-room recycling program.
MoreOutstanding staffers got a 10. Mikhaela & Brad were the consummate professionals, kind, proficient and great customer service. The front desk supervisor Cassandra & Director Chrissy were both ZEROES….that is what brought the score down to a 5. They were both abrupt, curt, matter-of-fact and unfriendly. They both exhibited poor customer service.
