Ingebretsen's Scandinavian Gifts was launched by Charles Ingebretsen back in 1921. Boasting the same address for almost a century, this family-run store specializes in Scandinavian imports. Its building is impossible to miss, with outer facades adorned with beautiful folk art. On offer are a variety of meats, cheeses, breads, candy, spices and preserves. In addition to specialty foods, they also feature craft items and knitwork. More than a shop, it is a melting pot of Scandinavian culture.

tripadvisorThe neighborhood has changed since the store opened. The road construction does not help. But you wo t find a nicer staff, the cashier offered to bring lingo berries to me. Ext time she went to visit her sister. Who does that!?!? I feel bad that the store has to put up with a city that has forgotten it. It has 2 locations. I only went to the main location. Please be brave and visit.
MoreThey have lefse year round! What is not to love? Oh yeah - the lutefisk (insert various Norske joke here). The deli is small, but covers a lot of ground. The gift shop is more fun and always has something new and interesting to check out when in town.
MoreThis is a small store with Nordic food, clothing, and gifts in the heart of Minneapolis. Since it was listed in one of our guide books, we decided to visit. It is a small and quaint shop with a variety of foods and gift items. Prices were very reasonable and I ended up buying a nice mug with a nice pattern.
