tripadvisorWe had to stay here due to flight issues from Delta. Really weird because the hotel looked like it was closed. All the parking lot lights, the overhang lights were off and all the lobby lights were off except for a small night light. Very disorienting and creepy. We would have left had it not been for us using a voucher. Turn your lights on! It’s dangerous having people walk in the dark. Rooms were clean and spacious, there is a breakfast available for $10 per person. I don’t think we would stay here again because it’s in a very busy location and with no lighting it’s an easy set up for accidents and break-ins.
MoreThe location is the best thing about this hotel. I've stayed at multiple other locations of Hilton Garden Inns throughout the USA and Canada, and this one was underwhelming and disappointing from the overly loud noise from the bar and restaurant that are situated within the lobby making check in difficult, not being acknowledged as a Gold Member, a room that was very basic more like a college dorm and the spaces in the parking lot are very tight and difficult There are better hotel options nearby within the Hilton Brand or other chains.
MoreWas going to stay here for a wedding.Check in - not great the agent had to go back to the back office 3 times to check on things., Got my room. room OKDecided to go to the hot tub that was on the website and in pictures at the time of booking. The hot tub has been closed and filed in, although the signs are still up for it in the pool area. There happened to be federal agents staying at the hotel. Beginning in early evening they were driving through the parking lot, honking their horns, etc. I'm not going to get in to personal feelings about the current climate, but the hotel should have hired security or off duty police officers.as i was getting ready to go to the reception, i heard SEVERAL gunshots, along with more honking and screaming.. I decided to pack my stuff up and head to the reception and head somewhere else. Was going to talk to someone at the front desk, but there was no one there.I sent a message to the hotel via the app explaining what happened and that I was checking out. Someone from the front desk left me a message that the Front Desk Manager would be in contact with me in the next few days. no one has followed up.. Keep in mind. this was the same night protesters breached into 2 hotels where federal agents were staying within 7 miles. They should have had more secuirty on site. After the shots, several Bloomington Police Officers were in the area, but again no security and no front desk agent at the desk. Anyone could have came in to the hotel. Not a safe situation!
MoreO boy, where do I start? I got to the hotel at 3:30pm and I do the contactless check-in. I proceed to bring my stuff to the room and lo behold, there is someone still in the room! I went to the front desk and they got us a different room which was not what I paid for. I paid for the King Suite which is supposed to be the bigger room and then they didn't even make it right and put us a cheaper room then what I paid for! I went back to the front desk and told them that I would like a refund on the room because it wasn't what I paid for and the lady said they would make it right. We left and went to the horse races and we got back to the room about 10:30 and they decided to give us some cheap vouchers for their bar and breakfast. The bar closed at 11 and we are going to the State Fair in the morning so I don't want their breakfast. In my opinion, they should've refunded the whole room because of their screw up but because of their poor customer service I would not recommend staying here if you are worried about the type of room you are getting or the condition/cleanliness of it. It has been a very disappointing experience with Hilton and it makes me question if the brand is starting to decline and I might not use Hilton in the future. Also, they have a small pool and no hot tub.
MoreExcellent hotel. Clean. Comfortable. Great coffee and bar specials. But the best part is Jennifer. While helping my friend with her eye surgery, she made sure we had everything we needed and treated my friend like family. Her genuine concern and help were so touching, she is a manager extraordinaire!
