tripadvisorMy husband and I were on a road trip around Lake Superior and Duluth was a stop. I wanted to see the Tiffany stained glass windows here. They were gorgeous! They played music on the pipe organ, making the experience much more memorable.
MoreThe church is located within a neighbor that has free parking. If you go to see the stained glass windows and organ, I would advise sending them an email in advance. The church office has regular hours, but summer hours are different. It's better to be safe than sorry. The Tiffany windows are lovely and the sanctuary is delightful with an amazing new organ that is a sight to behold. While you are at it, drive around the neighborhood. There are some fabulous, grand houses to see as well.
MoreThese are not the only Tiffany windows in Duluth- but they are easy to see on a weekday. Others are at First Presbyterian in downtown Duluth and in the theatre area at the Depot. There is even an historical fiction book about a Tiffany designer who lived in Duluth for a time, if I recall correctly. Check with the great Duluth librarians downtown on Superior Street for more info on the latter.
MoreMy friend had heard that there was a church in Duluth that had real Tiffany Glass windows. We searched the internet and found it was Pilgrim Congregational Church. We learned that the church is nearly 150 years old, and that it did indeed have four original Tiffany glass windows. Each were installed in the early 20th century. They also have some Tiffany Style windows. it was easy to spot the original Tiffany glass. The windows are incredibly beautiful ... the colors are rich and and detailed. The receptionist welcomed us into the sanctuary and was very kind in letting us admire the beautiful windows. The church itself is quite gorgeous. There is a large pipe organ. This was one of my favorite stops during our little vacation in Duluth.
MoreThis is an out of the way place to see a Tiffany window. The windows are incredible. Some of the windows due to how they have been made when the sun hits them it looks like the sun shine coming into the pastoral landscapes. These windows are for educational purpose as well. You will not see windows like these very often any more especially in America and in such an out of the way place. If you go to there web site and look under windows if you a brief description of the windows. They also have a 1917 organ in the church as well.
