Stumbled on James Krom Art Museum gallery while in the Hilton lobby. The items on display were quite diverse and absolutely fascinating. Some items were quite expensive, but I would say worth the price, if you could afford it. There were also items available for purchase for those on a limited budget. And whether you're going to buy or just view, it's well worth the time. Lifelike wood carvings of birds; one huge multi paneled painting of African wildlife, a large free style clock, with a grandfather type clock movement, but no case, so you could see all the moving parts. And much more.

We recently visited the James Krom Natural Images Art Museum Gallery on our trip to the Mayo Clinic. It is a wonderful store with a variety of unique items. The hand carved comfort birds caught my attention. There were various sizes, but a small, satin smooth one that just fit into my hand when closed was the one I purchased. It came with its own red velvet pouch. I was shopping while pushing my grandson in a stroller. The stroller was full so after purchasing the bird. I placed it in my back pocket. This proved to be an unwise decision as it somehow became lost. When I noticed it was missing, I retraced my steps, the store was now closed, and I didn’t find the special carved little bird. I later called and left a message for the owner explaining what had happened. He returned my call and informed me that someone had returned the bird to his store. He offered to mail it to me free of charge. My bird arrived today. I recommend visiting this special shop if you’re in the area. Their Customer service is outstanding.

I was a patient at the Mayo Clinic from out of state. I had a jewelry emergency and James fixed the problem very quickly.

The gallery and selection of art offered is top notch. Wood carvings, wood turnings, bronze sculptures, jewelry, landscapes, art with a focus on nature is shown for serious collectors. Quality unique gift items created out of wood such as turned wooden tops, pens and clipboards available. James Krom has an appreciative eye which is reflected in the artists’ work on display. He is very knowledgeable and willing to answer questions and discuss the artists and their work.
