Herman J. Dunn started H J Dunn Blacktop Surfacing Co. in 1946 as a road surfacing contractor in Goodview, Minnesota. In 1963 the company was purchased by Mathy Construction Company of LaCrosse, Wisconsin. The Dunn Blacktop office and Hot Mix Asphalt Plant remained at 1100 W. 2nd Street in Winona, Minnesota, where Dunn continued to produce quality hot mix for Driveways, Parking Lots, Tennis Courts, and Roads. In 1994 Dunn Blacktop moved its office and its new automated portable production plant to 24206 Hwy 43 Winona, Minnesota to better serve its customers needs in Southeast Minnesota and Western Wisconsin for Hot Mix Asphalt. Dunn Blacktop has produced the highest quality Hot Mix Asphalt for 65 years and looks forward to serving our customer needs in the future.
